Equus Events, Inc is a horse show production and management company run by J.P. and Megan Godard. Our main purpose is to create and run exhibitor friendly hunter/jumper events which also excel in the highest level of quality, competition, and most importantly hospitality.
We are also devoted to being a positive part of the community by supporting charitable organizations and other non-profit groups through our events. Based in the beautiful equestrian town of Aiken, SC, we offer something for everyone from the cross rail level to the grand prix jumpers.
J.P. was born and raised in Aiken, SC and has been involved in the hunter jumper horse show world practically all of his life. He has excelled as a course designer and has designed courses at some of the countries most prestigious horse shows including: the National Horse Show, the Winter Equestrian Festival, the Harrisburg National Horse Show, USEF National Pony Finals, USEF Junior Hunter Finals, and the Legacy Cup. J.P. founded Equus Events, Inc. in 2003 which now has a very sought after string of shows throughout the Southeast.
Originally from Germantown, TN, Megan grew up riding in the junior ranks with Phoebe Sheets. Upon turning pro, she rode and showed horses for such professionals as Kim Burnett, Dennis Mitchell, and Dave Pellegrini. As a professional she also coached many students to regional and national wins, but time soon brought her to Aiken, SC. Now a realtor with Meybohm Realtors, Megan also co-runs Equus Events. J.P. and Megan are also proud parents to their 1 1/2 year old daughter Maddie.
