Coastal Classic Week 2 - July 17th, 2008

The two week Coastal Classic series has just wrapped up. It's great to be back home in Aiken, but I must say it was sad leaving our wonderful beach condo! Thanks to all who supported us throughout the shows. We had a great time in Pensacola. Many exibitors told me about the fun they had at the beach, fishing, sailing.....oh and the horse show of course. Michael Newman and Aubry Hill Farms put on a great party Saturday night before the mini prix. A huge thanks goes out to them and we look forward to making the “Summer Breeze Party” a tradition year after year.

Congratulations to Mary Atonini and Charco for winning our $15,000 Summer Breeze Mini Prix who topped th- field of 17 entries. For full mini prix and hunter results click here.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Conyers and Aiken this September. In the meantime, check out some pictures from the two weeks in Pensacola. See you all soon!

Coastal Classic Week 1 -July 9th, 2008

We have just wrapped up our inaugural week here in Pensacola. The weather couldn't have been better and I think everyone had a chance to check out Perdido Key and Pensacola's gorgeous beaches! We would like to thank Shawn McMillen Photography for sponsoring our exhibitor reception on Thursday and on the 4th of July we all celebrated with a cook out at the end of the show. JP, Maddie and I were lucky enough to make it to the beach that night to enjoy some fire works. What a sight! You could see fire works all along the beach in every direction you looked. Very cool! We would also like to congratulate Dani Becker Scott and her new husband Mike! They were married on Pensacola Beach Monday the 7th in a beautiful ceremony.

Tryon Summer Classic June 5th - 8th 2008

What a week in Tryon! We want to thank everyone that helped us make our first show in the “Foothills” a success.

The highlight of the week was the $10,000 Jumper Classic and Belmont Bash on Saturday evening. Exhibitors and spectators enjoyed a spread of barbeque pulled pork, chicken, baked beans, cole slaw, and potato salad as well as banana pudding under the tent while crossing there fingers for Big Brown to win. Unfortunately we didn't see a Triple Crown winner this year, but we did cheer on Daniel Geitner and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bostwick's “Sympa” to a victory in the $10,000 Jumper Classic.

Atlanta Spring Challenge Wrap Up

Sunday, May 25th, 2008 - It was another exciting Saturday evening for the second week of the Atlanta Spring Series at the Georgia International Horse Park. A field of 29 competitors started in the 5th annual $25,000 Atlanta Spring Challenge Grand Prix. The course designed by Floriencio Hernandez of Mexico proved to be challenging as only 6 moved on to the jump off.

After the first 3 riders did not produce a clean round, the 4th of 6 jump-off competitors Derek Peterson and Jordan Coyne’s “Lazaro” took to the course. With the crowd cheering an ecstatic Derek raced through the finish line in a blazing time of 42.284 and the first to have no jumping faults with just two horses remaining!

One of the busiest riders of the night Daniel Geitner then took to the jump off course on his second qualifying mount Trading Places owned by Kyle Register. It was an “on the edge of your seats” finish as Daniel galloped toward the last fence and unfortunately had the lone rail in a time of 42.645. Only challenger Cian McDermott and Newsprint Farms “Kathleen” remained to challenge the leader. They gave it a noble effort, but in the end settled for the 6th place position.

The solitary clean round proved to be the best and the fastest as Derek Peterson and Lazaro took home the blue ribbon. Derek was no stranger to the winners circle during the Atlanta Spring Series as he won the $10,000 Welcome Stake week 1 on “Lazaro” and this week’s $10,000 Welcome Stake on his mount “Cisco”. Daniel Geitner of Aiken, SC took the red ribbon on Kyle Register’s “Trading Places” and the third place on Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bostwick’s “Sympa”. Daniel and “Sympa” also finished second in last week’s $25,000 Grand Prix. With consistency being the key, the second place finish in both weeks’ prix’s will help keep Daniel on top for the Equus Events $15,000 Year End Rider Bonus.

We hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day!

Atlanta Spring Premiere Wrap Up

We have just wrapped up the 2008 Atlanta Spring Premiere. We were blessed with gorgeous weather the entire week! May is such a wonderful time to visit the Georgia International Horse Park.

On Saturday evening everyone gathered at the Grand Prix Field to enjoy a “Preakness Party” sponsored by DFG Stables and New Vintage Farm. After cheering on Big Brown to another victory (I know we are all keeping our fingers crossed for a Triple Crown winner) attention then took center stage on the $25,000 Atlanta Spring Premiere Grand Prix.

Six riders of the initial field of 25 graduated on to the second round jump off of the Pierre Jolicoeur designed course. Congratulations to Hardin Towell of Camden, SC and Copado owned by Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Oare for taking the blue ribbon followed closely by Daniel Geitner of Aiken, SC and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bostwick's Sympa who captured the red rosette. “It was a great class!” said Hardin after his win. “Pierre (Jolicoeur) did a good job. I loved the show just like always and it is always nice showing at such a nice facility. I’d also like to thank Betty and Ernie Oare for letting me ride Copado.”

Atlanta Spring Challenge Wrap Up (May 29, 2007)

Congratulations to all of our winners this week at the Atlanta Spring Challenge! It was another great week at the Georgia International Horse Park. Great competition as well as another week of outstanding weather.

We would like to thank Dr. Juan Gamboa and Fort Dodge for holding an exhibitors reception Friday at the show as well as our featured sponsor of the week, Central Equine and Scott Schaedle. Also a special thanks to our show sponsors; The Atlanta Hunt Club, Jump In Connection, Stevehaven Stables, Biogricio and Lewis Pack, Century 21 Eulalie Salley of Aiken, SC, and Tokaruk Show Stables of Aiken, SC. We greatly appreciate all of your support!

A big congratulations goes out to Hardin Towell of Camden, SC and his Iago Du Quesnoy for winning the first annual $25,000 Central Equine Grand Prix! Hardin won his first Mini Prix at the Atlanta Spring Challenge exactly 4 years ago on the Olympic field and we are extremely excited for him to capture his first Grand Prix win here as well! Jeffery Martin and Hojagergards Clinton came in a close second followed by 14 year old Taylor Land and Canaille who took home the yellow ribbon. Taylor made her Grand Prix Prix debut at last weeks Atlanta Spring Premiere Grand Prix and took home 9th. Her third place finish this week with a very seasoned field of riders makes us think this up and coming team will be one to watch out for!

New Announcements for the 2007 Show Season (February 9th, 2007)
We have several new announcements for the 2007 show season. As many of you have heard there will be two back to back weeks for the Atlanta Spring in May. The Atlanta Spring Premiere May 16th - 20th and the Atlanta Spring Challenge May 23rd – 27th. Both shows will feature:

The Charleston June Classic will take place June 6 – 10, 2007 at the Mullet Hall Equestrian Center, John’s Island, SC. This year will be the best yet. Here are just some of the features: We have already started working on the Charleston June schedule to make sure there will be plenty of time in the afternoon for you to enjoy all that this resort area has to offer. It is a great place to take a family vacation with your horse. For those of you that have not yet attended, Mullet Hall is located just 6 miles from Seabrook and Kiawah Island, and 15 miles from downtown Charleston, SC. Remember, June is the best time to spend in this area so make sure you reserve your house or villa on the island before they get booked up.

We look forward to seeing you at the show.
JP Godard

P.S. Some of you might have already heard, but Megan and I are happy to announce that we are expecting a little girl this summer!!!

Pine Mountain Shows Wrap Up (August 10, 2006)
We have just wrapped up a great two weeks at the Pine Mountain Summer Classic shows! During week one, the inaugural Marcy Martin Memorial Jumper Classic was won by 'Cheenookee', owned by High Ridge Farm and ridden by Susie Fried. Thanks to all that made that class a very special night. It was so nice to be able to honor a great horseman such as Marcy Martin. Also a special thanks to Crickets Restaurant of Pine Mountain for providing our dinner that evening!

The highlight of the two weeks was the $10,000 Habitat for Humanity Jumper Classic. Saturday evening featured 'An Evening of Art and an Equestrian Extravaganza'. A dinner and an art auction took place along with the jumper classic to benefit the Columbus area Habitat for Humanity. 'Trouvador' was the victor with rider Mariano Bedoya riding for Bullneck Barn, LLC, just narrowing out Lincoln Russell and his mount 'Monarch' who took the red rosette. The art auction was a huge success and featured an authentic original Normal Rockwell sketch. The starting bid was $19,500...and guess what? One of our exhibitors took it home!!

Click here to view results from both shows.

Jeanine's Restaurant and Steak house hosted both of our exhibitors' parties each Thursday. Week two was the infamous Karaoke party...watch for pictures (and video) coming up on the web site soon! Pine Mountain Idol maybe?

Again, thanks to everyone, including all of our sponsors for helping to make the shows a huge success. We really had a great time!

The Labor Day and Camden prize lists are out, so make sure you get your entries in on time. See ya in Conyers!

Spring Shows a Huge Success! (June 6, 2006)
Well, we have just wrapped up our spring shows and wish to thank all of our sponsors, exhibitors and supporters for making the Atlanta Spring Challenge and the Carolina Series a huge success! The Atlanta show was our biggest to date and we expect an even bigger and better show next year.

The highlight of all the spring shows was the exhibitors cruise (might I say party instead?) on the Island Breeze Tour boat in Bohicket Marina during the Charleston June Horse Show. It was a gorgeous evening that started out with a wine and cheese party at the Bohicket Chandlery thanks to Jonathon Rabon and Robin Stoney....we then sailed off on a two hour cruise with wonderful views and we even got to do some dolphin watching!

A very special thanks goes out to Bob Bell and the Bohicket marina for an evening to remember as well as a huge congratulations to all of our Carolina Spring Series circuit champions!

We are now gearing up for the 2nd annual Pine Mountain Summer Classics held at Poplar Place Farm in Hamilton, GA July 26th - August 6th. The prize list will be posted soon and should be mailed out by the end of the week. Permanent stalls and camper spaces are limited so make sure you get your entries in on time.

We are pleased to announce that the Columbus area Habitat for Humanity will again be our beneficiary with a dinner and auction during the $10,000 Jumper Prix on Saturday evening of the second week. Many sponsorship opportunities are available.

Also don't forget to mark your calendars for the new Labor Day Classic show held September 2nd - 4th at the Georgia International Horse Park.

Thanks to all and please give me a call in the office 803-643-5698 or e-mail us for Pine Mountain reservations or any other questions you may have.
