Week I Results: December 2-5, 2021

Congratulations to the winner of the $10,000 Aiken Saddlery Jumper Classic: Daniel Geitner and Ghirardelli, owned by Dayna Gant. Second place went to Adam Sklansky and Hakini, owned by Ellen Walker.

Congratulations to the winner of the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby: Daniel Geitner and Play That Song, owned by Anna Wells-Sharp. Geitner also claimed second with St Tropez, owned by Laura Cramer.

Congratulations to the winner of the $1,000 Open Jumper Welcome Stake: Adam Sklansky and Hakini, owned by Ellen Walker. Second place went to Emily Smith and Lui Belle de Reeva, owned by Sarah Kerins.

Aiken December Classic II
Week II Results: December 9-12, 2021

Congratulations to the winner of the $10,000 Aiken Saddlery Jumper Classic: Hillary Simpson and Speculation, owned by Palmyra Partners, LLC. Second place went to Rachel Kennedy and her own Fandango.

Congratulations to the winner of the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby: Daniel Geitner and St Tropez, owned by Laura Cramer. Geitner was also second with Nolan, owned by Sherry Kozloff.

Congratulations to the winner of the $1,000 Open Jumper Welcome Stake: Erin McGuire and her own Kasarr. Second place went to Abby Lockwood and her own Metro Lass.

Festive Activities

Equus Events teamed up with The Children’s Place of Aiken to collect monetary and clothing donations for their annual Christmas Campaign. Throughout the two week show, Equus Events raised $3,000.00 total for The Children’s Place of Aiken. Exhibitors had the option of adding $25.00 to their show bill or donating children’s-sized 2-7 socks, underwear, pants, and shorts. Thank you to everyone who donated--you’ve helped make a difference in a child’s life!

The Children’s Place of Aiken’s mission is “to protect, heal, and strengthen children and families from the impact of trauma in their lives through education, treatment, and prevention services.” For more information on The Children’s Place in Aiken, please visit their website: https://www.childrensplaceinc.org.

Tacky Christmas Sweater Day Winners: On Saturday, December 11th, we held a contest for all competitors, staff, and spectators to wear their best Tacky Christmas Sweaters. The winners received a gift certificate to Rose Hill in Aiken. Our top three picks were:

1. 1st place tie: Stephanie Strean and Kaitlyn Havner (the elves)

2. 2nd place: John Maldonado and his dog, Fisher

3. 3rd place: Erin McGuire

Gingerbread House Contest: We got everyone’s creative juices flowing with our Gingerbread House Contest! The winner received a free stall at a 2022 Equus Events horse show. Our winners were as follows:
1st place: Campbell Clement, Finley Clement, and Emma Barsosky Honorable Mention: Rayne and Audrey Honorable Mention: Amelia Turner
